Tung Wah Hospital, Hongkong, 22nd October, 1899,

I have the honour to submit for the information of the Government the annual quarterly report regarding the work of the Tung Wah Hospital during the three months 1st July, to 30th September, 1899.

The following table shows the statistics of the quarter:

During the corresponding quarter of 1898, 762 patients were admitted to the Hospital.

I append a table showing in detail the Admission and Mortality during the quarter with the proportion of cases treated by Western and Chinese Methods respectively.

Of the 544 admissions, 350 were under Chinese native treatment, 133 were treated according to Western science, 56 were transferred to Hospitals at Kennedy Town and 5 to the Government Civil Hospital.
